National Award – Energy Management Centre Wins India Power Awards 2010

Energy Management Centre (EMC)– Kerala, the State Designated agency to implement the Energy conservation Act has been selected for this years’ India Power Award in the category of Energy Efficiency, conservation and Demand Side Management. Shri. K. M. Dharesan Unnithan, Director, Energy Management Centre received the award from Dr. V. Krishnamurthy, Chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council in a function organized in New Delhi. The award committee selected EMC for this award for implementing energy efficiency and energy conservation projects in Kerala. EMC has implemented several energy conservation programmes in the State. This is the second national award received by EMC. Other was the first national Energy conservation award instituted by Ministry of Power, Government of India in the category of Best State Designated Agency. India Power award is instituted by Council Power Utilities as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of its Journal India Power.
